Alix Dorleus 31 x 25.  "The sacred waterfall". In the small mountain village of Saut d'eau (waterfall) annual midsummer celebration gathers under the torrent of water pouring off a limestone cliff into descending pools. There, pilgrims from across Haiti purify their bodies and spirits with the assistance of their society's priests. Alix Dorleus is from the Department de l'Artibonite of Haiti and was mentored by the region's famous artist Ismael Saincilus. Alix enjoys painting village life, and tropical flowers and birds.
